Why I Wrote the "Economics of Banking and Money" and Why YOU Should Read It!

It began with curiosity. I started studying Behavioral Finance at Duke University, and that’s where banking first caught my attention. I then completed the Economics of Money and Banking course at Columbia University. The deeper I went, the more I realized how few people truly understand the systems shaping their financial lives.

With a background in investment, real estate, and business, I wanted to write a book that brings together the academic insight I gained with the real-world experience I’ve lived. Economics of Banking and Money is the result: a practical, clear, and engaging guide for anyone who wants to understand money, power, trust, and change.

Most people think money is just something you earn, spend, or save. But that’s only the surface. Behind every transaction is a system of trust, control, history, psychology, and power. Too many people are left in the dark about how money really works, and the cost of staying uninformed is getting higher by the day.

This book wasn’t written for economists. It was written for people like you and me — students, entrepreneurs, investors, or anyone who simply wants to make smarter decisions in an increasingly unpredictable world. Rising interest rates, digital currencies, financial crashes... these aren't just headlines. They affect your daily life, your business, your future.

Each chapter unpacks a different piece of the puzzle:

  • Why banks don’t actually keep all your money in the vault

  • How inflation sneaks up on your purchasing power

  • Why central banks hold more influence than most elected officials

  • What makes blockchain and crypto so disruptive

  • And how your own psychology shapes your financial behavior

I wrote this book because understanding money is no longer optional. It’s essential. We live in a world where those who understand the system can shape it. The rest get shaped by it. If I can help just one reader feel more confident, more aware, and more in control of their financial future, then this book did its job.
